CHAPTER 4 : THE PAST

"WHAT-??? What do you mean she's nowhere to be found?" She asked Stacy, her heart racing.

"I don't know.... I went out to use restroom and when I got here, she was gone." Stacy cried.

"I am coming." She said and hung up. She took the bus and reached hospital as fast as she could.

My heart was beating so fast, I could barely breath properly at this point. Everything is going wrong.... I lost my job, my finances are running out, Dad is gone and now Cindy is nowhere to be found.... what wrong have I done to deserve all this.

"What's happening Stacy where is she?" She asked her out of breath.

"Amelia, I asked everyone in the hospital they said, they released the patient and she went away with her father." She informed her.

I lost all my senses as soon as I got to know father took her.... I am pretty sure that Cindy is in trouble but I have no idea where to find he. She broke down feeling helpless and miserable.

"We'll find her Amelia. Let's get home first ."Stacy tried to comfort her.

"This is all my fault.... I knew I wasn't a good guardian to her.... I wish I could have left her with nana." She cried.

"Amelia don't be ridiculous. No one could have raised her better than you and about nana...she is old. Your father would have taken her anyway."
Stacy reasoned with her.

"Let's go get you at home." She helped her up and they both left for home.

DAMIEN

"Did you find her identity yet?" I asked Luke and Carl.

"We have our suspicion, Capo." Luke replied.

"And when do you plan on clearing it, Luke? I want her! Do you get me?" I shouted at them.

"I get it bro.... relax. it's just that we have no proof except that she belongs from the same place and is very identical to the person you asked about." Luke retorted.

"Carl.... I want you to go along with tony and get us his side of exchange.... we need a maid for my home anyway......it's better than nothing."

"I am on its Capo." He said and left.

When will I find you, you are the only good thing about my childhood that I can remember.... I wish I knew you name at least. All I have is this sun pendant that you left me with. Damien held a beautiful sun necklace in his hands, a part of it was broken. A memory stirred, pulling him back in time.

Flashback

I was barely, seven standing under a tree, weeping because of the pain my scars caused me. She stood there in the distance watching me intently.

"Are you okay? "She came towards me walking like a duck but I found it adorable. I didn't answer her. I was grown into being this closed off cold man.

"Does it hurt?" she caressed my bleeding scar softly. Her voice like feather, her touch so tender.

"Here it won't hurt anymore." She took out a piece of cloth from her scarf and wrapped it around my scar. I stared at her in completely bewildered.

"So, FRIENDS?" she moved her hands towards me for a handshake.

Blushing, I shook it and nodded. She took off her necklace which has doble chains attached. One to the sun pendant and another to the moon. She broke the pendants and gave the sun pendant to me.

"Here, wear it." She ordered.

"Why? its yours!!" I asked her. I was very possessive of everything I owned and I didn't like sharing at all.

"It's a token of friendship; you'll always remember me through it." She smiled at me and slipped it on my neck herself.

That was the first time I ever gave smile to a girl.

---------------------------------------------------------------

They came back home to find the house empty. Amelia was internally praying to see Cindy at home but, it was disheartening for her to see that she wasn't there.

"What will we do Stacy how will we find her." she collapsed onto the bed, burying her face in her hand.

"We'll find her Amelia; we'll figure something out. Lemme get you water, relax a bit." Stacy reassured her and went into the kitchen.

"AMELIA!!! Come here, I found something." She screamed from inside.

Amelia runs behind her into the kitchen where Stacy stood. The Water was scattered on the floor holding a paper in her hand.

"What is this." She looks intently at the paper.

Stacy's face was white as ash as she repeats the words in the paper.

"To who so ever it may concern, the little girl is with us. Do not act smart and report to police. It will only cause threat to her life. If you do care about her show up at the dump yard near Omen café, tonight by 12 and alone.... any act of suspicion and consider the little girl gone......FOREVER."

To say that I was scared would be an understatement, I was terrified at the thought that my little sister is not only kidnapped but there also lies a threat to her life.

"What are we going to do Amelia?" Stacy sat down, hopeless.

"THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT."
